The Sonos Play: 5 is a wireless speaker that uses Wi-Fi to receive streaming audio from your smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac. It's is part of the Sonos home audio system, and can be combined with other Sonos products to create a listening experience.
The Play: 5 doesn't offer Bluetooth, Airplay or DLNA capabilities. Instead through Sonos' Wi-Fi connection, or through a 1/8-inch auxiliary input. You plug a small, affordable box called the Bridge into your router via an included Ethernet cable. Then you can place the Sonos wireless speakers around the house. You can opt to plug the Play: 5 directly into your router and forgo the Bridge, but this means you'll have to keep the Play: 5 attached to your router.
Sonos software application you can download that syncs with your iTunes or Windows Media Player library. The app also has integrated services like Pandora, Spotify and Google Play. You must be on the Wi-Fi network to change the input from Wi-Fi to the 1/8-inch auxiliary input.
Sonos is extremely easy to use compared to most Wi-Fi speaker systems.
The Sonos Play 5, a fantastic home audio system. So check it out, a sound investment.
